Wonderfull India ✏️ Blogs de India India

In 2015, my husband and I, have embarked on a journey that will prove to be unique. India is a place that gets into your heart and will never leave. The first impact was really touching: chaos and extreme poverty had questioned my choice about the trip. Then, without realizing it, we became part of that land so poor but rich of bright colors and intense fragrances, an authentic world, sincere, pervaded by a spiritual force:that allows you to enjoy the little things. We will never forget Babu, a fifty-old-man, who gets excited for having found a kite, smiling and playing there as a child. Carved forever in our minds and in our hearts the faces of children who smile for a chewing gum or a biscuit. We find ourselves at the end of the trip (material and spiritual) with sadness and nostalgia for saying goodbye to a friend.

And a friend had really left in Rajastan: the great little Nour, who has accompanied us throughout our journey as a Guardian Angel, preceded our needs and met all our requests, which sometimes, because of our Touring Guide, could have seemed to him really bizarre.

But let's start from beginnign.

11 and 12/05/2016
Arrival in New Delhi in the evening. In the morning there is our driver/friend Noor, punctual as a Swiss watch, and he will be for the whole trip. Rather, in advance with the sparkling clean car, he will take us into the mysterious and fascinating land of Rajasthan. The first stop is Mandawa, with its splendid haveli: the houses of rich traders, now abandoned may be visited, full of decorations and frescoes, some really unusual: the woman who talks by mobile phone, a hang glider, women who give birth etc ..., our hotel is a beautiful haveli we'll have fun to visit.

13/05/2016
We salute this jewel of town, a quick stop at Fatehpur to see other haveli and we continue to Bikaner where there will be another comfortable hotel and a delicious dinner. The best restaurants are reported by Noor that leads us and waits for the end of dinner.

14/05/2016
Bikaner, oasis town surrounded by desert, another pearl of India, not to be missed. Everything in India is fascinating, even traveling in the car, allow you to see variations of the lands, from the desert to more places rich in flora, a rarely visited temples and unique monuments.A step not provided to a place where they build brick, because N. saw my husband particularly interested. He "passed off" for businessmen, while we were impressed by such an ancient system and their manual work, so very different from our ultra modern factories! Arrival in Jaisalmer, where we stayed in the splendid Hotel Fifu. The owner is really friendly, he speaks English and French and vegetarian cuisine is really sublime.

15/05/2016
Jaisalmer is spectacular: the City of Gold. I know I am repeating myself, but you have to visit it. Once back in the car, as usual, two fresh mineral water bottles waiting for us. Nour always thinks of all, he helps us with the sim-card to call home, is always ready and efficient, drive carefully, and we really feel assisted in all.In the evening we made a tour in the desert with camels, we had dinner among the dunes with a magnificent starry sky as only source of light. A big thank to the two young boys who accompanied us and who are so scared while I was rolling down from a dune, like a landslide, while my thoughtful husband photographed the sky and didn't notice anything ...

16/05/2016
Departure to Jodhpur, the blue city, another visit that leaves us speechless.

17/05/2016
Drive to Ranakpur, amazing Jain temple complex. In the evening arrival in Udaipur.

18/05/2016
Visit of Udaipur, which is built, sweet and light, on the shores of a lake.

19/05/2016
We leave for Chittorgarh Fort, another enchanting site of Rajastan. In the evening arrival in Jaipur.

20/05/2016
Jaipur the pink city, with the Amber Fort and its ascent with the elephants. Maybe a little tourist as some people say, but I'm still laughing because I thought to an elephant leading on his back another elephant, because of my size. But now, for women's pride, I want to emphasize that after five months of diet, I am returned to a decent weight.

21/04/2016
Departure for the visit of Abhaneri well, a really fascinating and well-preserved building. Now we move to Fatehpur Sikri, a beautiful city built by Emperor Akbar. Arrive in Agra in the evening.

22/04/2016
Agra is very chaotic, and if it had not the Taj Mahal, I'd say you could skip ... but I can not because the emotion I felt in front of one of the wonders of the world is indescribable and priceless! Then, drive to Gwalior, with its delightful yellow and blue tiles and gigantic statues carved in the rock. Next stop Orchha, arriving in the evening.

23/04/2016
Visit Orchha and its rich citadel of decorations. In the afternoon arrival in Khajuraho.

24/06/2016
Khajuraho, absolutely unique, with many temples which have been preserved on the grounds that they were "buried" by the vegetation, with their wonderful statues. I believe that in all my life I'll never see a place like this.

I will never forget the tours by tuk tuk, the flavors of the food with thousands spices, fruits especially of Chicu, the naan, the Masala chai and gulab jamun.
Sadly we have to in the evening to greet our dear companion of adventure, it is the most sad and difficult moment of the trip. He has had someone close to us always so careful and helpful, certainly has meant so much to the success of the trip, which sometimes shook our consciences hard.
