Hoi An is a smaller town, and there is not yet an airport or train station within the town. However, Da Nang has an international airport and also a train station, so what you will have to do is go to Da Nang first and from there go to Hoi An. From Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh you can also take a bus to Hoi An, but believe me, you don’t want to do that. It takes you 15 to 20 hours on the bus, along serpentine roads.
