Hello everyone!!

I'm Jorge, thank you very much for entering the subject and looking to contribute with a new backpacker.

Consultation: Tips, tips and recommendations for a new backpacker in South America (5-6months). This in any way: Opinions, websites, videos, guides, etc. The topics that I look for most (although not the resign) are the following:

- The start: Preparation before leaving? Adaptation days of backpacking?
- Make Finger: Tips and recommendations to make a finger? Where to do it? Hours? others?
- Destinations: The best places, regions, countries that recommend? The best places to eat?
- Security: Security tips and recommendations? Dangerous cities? Money management? Is travel insurance necessary?
- Accommodation: Couchsourfing is the best? Tips? Do you recommend others?
- Activities to do on the trip: Volunteering, simple jobs, sports, others to sustain trips?
- Material: Books, movies or others for the trip
- Company: Traveling with another backpacker? I am thinking of announcing it in a forum, if someone is encouraged to go out with me from Lima. Are there any disadvantages or related recommendations?
- Others

Panorama and Trip Data:

Backpacking trip of 5-6 months approx. throughout South America. I leave from Peru to the North to Colombia, and then to the South through Brazil, Argentina, Chile. This trip I will do before finishing the university in order to know life from another perspective and know myself more.

Budget: 7,000 - 8,000 soles.
Transportation: By finger
Accommodation: Couchsourfing or volunteering

Happiness and vibes for all,
Thank you!!!

Tips for traveling Colombia Heart Heart Heart

The following tips can help you determine what kind of travel coverage, if any is right for you!

Yellow fever shots : Required to have been vaccinated against yellow fever at least 15 days prior to departure if you going to visit :

The Amazon, Tayrona park, Santa Marta, Barranquilla , Cartagena , La Guajira, San Andrés y Providencia, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Llanos Orientales.

If you plan to visit jungle areas or parks as Amazonia's Amacayacu Park, is recommended in addition to the yellow fever vaccine a tetanus .

You can get your yellow fever shots "free" at the airport in Bogotá as there is an infirmary there and you can get your certificate there too.

Note, YOU must have been vaccinated against yellow fever at least 15 days prior to departure to these destinations . Must show the certificate at the Colombia's airport of yellow fever shot, just to departure to these destinations.

If you only going to visit Bogotá, Medellin, Cali, Villa de Leyva or the coffee zones of Colombia ( Caldas, Armenia , Quindio). Although it is not necessary I recommend you get your shots and carry with you your certificate. Just in case!

Medical insurance and travel

If you planning to go for short or long time will be a good idea to acquire travel insurance that provides health care coverage and hospital care.

Who NO needs a tourist Colombia Visa?

If you are a citizen from the Argentina, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Chile, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, USA, Finland, France, Great Britain, Guatemala, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela foreign residents of Canada and the United States. If you planning on staying NO more than 90 days then you WILL NOT NEED A VISA

Pay attention...If you are planning on staying in colombia longer, investing, conducting business, or traveling to Colombia for reasons other than tourism you should get a Colombia's Visa.

Hello greetings from Argentina 8)
My name is Santiago I have 22 years old and I’m looking for company for a life time trip in Latin America and Central America.
Starting at Buenos Aires and going south to see the whole Ushuaia till the bottom touching Antarctica
after that returning by plane to Buenos Aires and going to Foz do Iguacu and from there to do the entire coast of Brazil to Fortaleza and spend the Carnival in Salvador de Bahia!
from Fortaleza fly to Peru to visit Machu Pichu
from there go to Ecuador to go to the Galapagos Island than Colombia from there continue going up to Panama and Costa Rica and from there end up back home.
begin in October-November till the end of March
that's my plan, but everything can change during the trip
I'm looking for company for the ride for the whole trip or parts of it…
I hope you answer me as soon as possible and I’ll be happy to get some other ideas plans and help to make this ride.
Such as making the coast of Brazil? plane? bus? which is better? and cheaper?
