Hola a todos, nos vamos a Uganda el mes que viene y acabamos de hacer el e-visa , el precio del visado para Uganda ( solo Uganda, sin otros países de Africa del Este) es de 50 $ USA, Entrada Única. Con pago por tarjeta de crédito 51,50 $.
No hemos tenido ningún problema en el proceso, nos han dado un número de ID, y ha sido aceptado el visado y el pago, en unos días nos mandaran la confirmación por mail.

En 3 horas nos ha llegado la aprobación del visado que hay que llevar impresa al entrar en el país junto con el pasaporte, una fotografía y la cartilla de vacunación de fiebre amarilla. El visado, listo.

Hola amigos,
Os cuento! todos los años me voy de viaje 2-3 meses
Y este año el plan es ir a Indonesia....a surfear, bucear y ver orangutanes!
Y de tanto informarme me he dado cuenta que....los gorilas molan mucho mas Sonriente
Como me impactó de niño "gorilas en la niebla", creo que es una de las pelis que he visto mas veces
Pues he viajado medio mundo pero nunca he estado en Africa
Soy mochilero total, me he hecho toda argentina y mexico en autostop, me he comprado una furgo en nueva zelanda, blablabla pero a Africa le tengo mucho respeto. Pero supongo que son todas tonterias, que una vez ahí me animaria a hacer cualquier cosas

Así que de repente estoy pensando en no ir a indonesia y ir a Uganda y/o Rwanda a ver gorilas. Entiendo que esta experienca serian solo 2-3 días (aunque si hubiera algun voluntariado o algo por mi me quedaria un par de semanas). Que mas podria hacer por ahí?
Que alguien me convezca que merece la pena ir un par de meses por esa zona del mundo :)))

Pues ya tengo billetes para Uganda. Llego el 12 de Diciembre.
Queria saber....existe un bus de Kampala a Goma (Congo)? he leido por ahí de los Jaguar Coach, pero no tienen web ni nada.
Queria saber cuantas horas son y los precios, mas o menos claro!

Acabo de leer las 74 paginas de este grupo (y otras de otros grupos) y tengo una pregunta...
Porque NADIE habla de Rwanda? Tiene pinta que a parte ver gorilas no hay mucho mas que hacer...
En 74 paginas solo un par de veces se habla del Volcanoes National Park, Genocide Memorial, y del lake Kivu pero esto es todo.
Porque deberia ir a Rwanda?

Uganda. Tengo 45 días. El plan es quedarme 3 días en Kampala, esperar a una amiga mia, ir juntos a Goma (DR Congo), dormir en el volcan Nyiragongo, ver gorilas ahí mismo y....a mi amiga le quedaran 3 días mas (y tiene que volver a Kampala) pues o la convezco de que hay algo para hacer en Rwanda, o volvemos en Uganda pasando por Bunagana y vamos a el lago Bunyonyi, o no se me ocurre mucho mas...

Y después empezará de verdad mi viaje. Mi mochila y yo. Con trasnportes locales, y ojala conocza algun otro turista que haya alquilado 4x4 y tenga un hueco para mi.

Leyendo las 74 paginas me ha quedado bastante claro que son las cosas que quiero hacer (y las que no):

Lo que mejor suena del todo es pasar un par de días en el Queen Elizabeth Park. Y sin duda ahí tengo que: 1)pasar una noche en Mweya 2)pasar una noche en Ishasha 3)paseo en barco por el Kazinga Channel
Obviamente para todo esto tendré que encontrar a alguien con coche. Se que parece un chiste pero es factible ponerme en la entrada del parque y hacer autostop?

En el segundo lugar lo mas interesante parece Murchison Falls National Park
1)El paseo en barco hasta la base de las cataratas es obligado 2)bajar ahí y caminar a la parte alta de las cascadas

Y para completar el podio pues Lago Bunyonyi
1)relajarme 2)hacer excursiones por el lago visitando las islas

Y rafting en Jinja ya veremos, suena muy bien ...

Los chimpancés no me interesa mucho la verdad, pero supongo que podria hacerlos en Queen Elizabeth Park

Bwindi no merece la pena ya que ya habré visto gorilas en DR Congo
Kibale park no me llama mucho la atención, ni el lago Mburo
Y Kidepo NP tampoco

Y me falta informarme un poco sobre el lago Victoria, seguramente iré a ssesse islan pero creo que haré mas cosas por ahí.

No parece que haya mucho mas la verdad. De repente 45 días me parecen muchos pero ya se como funciona y conoceré gente que me llevará a sitios desconocidos, daré también mucha importancia a entran el en pais de verdad y conocer ugandeses y su cultura (asi que si hay consejos de pueblos donde ir, aunque no sean bonitos pero autenticos....)

Y si no sabré que hacer pues podria perfectamente plantearme de o hacer voluntariado o irme a Kenya.

Que os parece? ideas?

Nosotros hacemos Ruta por Uganda y Ruanda 15 días en Septiembre con Mamaland Safaris. Os dejo a continuación la ruta que hemos consensuado, por si os sirviese de guía para organizar la vuestra a los futuros viajeros a la zona.

Day 1: 02nd Sept, 2018- Arrival day at Entebbe airport

Arrive at Entebbe international airport during the day/evening and be met by your safari guide to start your Uganda from north to south safari. You will be taken to the hotel to rest after the flight and be ready for the adventures starting tomorrow.

Day 2: 03rd Sept, 2018-Transfer out of Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park – Ziwa rhino trekking

Leave Kampala in the morning for the start of your Murchison Falls national park safari. You have lunch either along the way or when reaching the lodge depending on time. Start With possible rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary before arriving at the lodge for an overnight.

Day 3: 04th Sept, 2018- Full day Murchison falls national Park with game drives and Boat cruise to the Delta

In the morning we set off for a game-drive in Murchison Falls national park. On the broad savannah you search for Big cats, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76. We continue browsing the circuits to the delta point for a cocktail of birds and mammals. With lunch break, continue to for the boat cruise to the delta area a unique destination with lots of birdlife south of the Murchison falls.

Day 4: 05th Sept, 2018 - Morning game drive & boat-cruise with hike to the top of the falls in Murchison Falls National Park

With breakfast at leisure, continue for a game drive within the park expecting to meet large heards of Elephants, buffaloes grazing. You will have another chance to look for the big cats in case you missed them the previous day. In the afternoon you go for the 2pm boat ride on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls where you get to see the Hippos (You have never seen more
Hippos yawning, Grooming in there Pods anywhere else than here- Believe me you), Nile Crocodiles, Elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them. When reaching the falls you jump of the boat and go with a guide to the top of the falls. It is a beautiful hike that takes you to see the falls close up as an explosive dash of water at close range gushes through a narrow crevice before the Nile continues its journey towards the Mediterranean. Your guide picks you at the top of the falls and you continue on to the town Masindi to spend the night at Uganda's oldest hotel. Masindi hotel is known for having hosted Hemingway and Humprey Bogart.
(The hike to the top of the falls includes a steep trail so might not be suitable if you have some health issues.)

Day 5: 06th Sept, 2018 - Transfer to the crater lakes area by Fort Portal

After breakfast transfer towards the crater lakes area by Fort Portal. It’s a long drive with our target to have lunch in Fort portal. A punctuation of stopovers at sceneries like the Rift valley escarpment on Lake Albert - typical African village setup in the far countryside and tea plantations along the drive offer us chances of stretching. We check in late afternoon to an area with an amazing display of primates and lovely scenery.

Day 6: 07th Sept, 2018 - Chimp trekking experience and bigodi nature walk

Kibale forest national park is a rainy forest and a home to over 1500 Chimpanzees. During your morning chimps trekking you will see them close and capture shots of our closest cousins in the Jungle in their frenzy exciting moods grooming! Besides the chimps 9 different species of Monkeys are found in this forest, for example red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies. In the forest canopy colored aviation creatures-butterflies and various bird species like the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo and the superb black bee eater can be spotted. After your guide brings you back to the lodge to relax after a heavy lunch before embarking on a nature walk at Bigodi wetland which is suitable for birders.

Day 7: 08th Sept, 2018 - Explore the crater lakes area and community walk in Kyambura

Crater exploration with a walk to Crater Lake, if you are lucky you might see different species of Monkeys, such as red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies. More in the forest canopy colored aviation creatures- butterflies various bird species like the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo, the superb black bee eater. Then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, having lunch along the way. Option to drive further southwards with the Rwenzori ranges (Longest in Africa) in view or drive through the Crater lakes in the Hills through to sample out the surprising diversity of Savannah trees and wildlife! In the late afternoon after arriving at the lodge in Kyambura we stretch our legs with a community walk to the close by village and beautiful Crater Lake.

Day 8: 09th Sept, 2018 - Game-drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Discover Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning with an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals. Possibility to see Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs- Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents to this park are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along. There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland sports as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes. After lunch it is time for the Classic highlight of the 2hrs boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel, a 36kms channel linking Lake George to lake Edward. On the banks you can see land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning and some slashing canines to each other, the National Geographical society Killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks and
Savannah versions of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home!

Day 9: 10th Sept, 2018 - Game drive - Ishasha's tree-climbing lions

We will drive off in the adventurous vast savannah of the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth NP with Topis, the southern version of Elephants and hopefully with the lions high in the Fig tree branches. This is one of two areas in Africa where lions have the habit of regularly climbing trees to take a rest.

Day 10: 11th Sept, 2018 - Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

With a game drive at leisure in search for more wildlife probably those missed the previous day transfer on to Bwindi mountain gorillas through a beautiful drive taking you from the savanna via cultivated hills to the jungle covered mountains of Bwindi. (If we reach early we can do the walk and mix with the locals or relax with the Orphans group performers)

Day 11: 12th Sept, 2018 - Gorilla trekking day- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the mountain gorillas. You will be taken in a group by a specialized guide into the jungle for your gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the beautiful nature and spend one hour with the gorillas, an unforgettable experience. This Impenetrable Forest is also full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and duikers.

Day 12: 13th Sept, 2018 - Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

With morning breakfast, proceed via Cyanika border to Rwanda, continue to Volcanoes National Park; in the afternoon visit the Karisoke Research centre learn more about Dian Fossey’s work in the National Park and history of Gorilla conservation.

Day 13: 14th Sept, 2018 - Gorilla tracking Volcanoes National Park

With an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for gorilla briefing. When venturing into this gigantic forest, a packed lunch, comfortable clothes, shoes and a walking stick is a must before gorilla tracking. The time spent gorilla tracking is unpredictable, It varies from 2-8 hours before an encounter with the family of these gentle creatures. The location of each gorilla family depends on temperature, their feeding range and movement of the previous day.
Enjoy this 1 hour (only time allowed in the company of each gorilla family a day) watch and capture this memorable experience as they go about their day to day activities; the young ones playing around the old ones, feeding each other and eating foliage. The sight of these outstanding creatures is the climax of this entire safari. Later retire for an overnight at the lodge.

Day 14: 15th Sept, 2018 - Golden monkey tracking – Boat cruise on the twin lake Ruhondo

This morning you set off to meet the golden monkeys. Your guide takes you to the starting point and you set off with a specialized guide for the trek. You’ll experience beautiful nature and get a great experience of primates. A relaxed boat cruise on Lake Ruhondo will enhance your gorilla trekking experience.

Day 15: 16th Sept, 2018 - Kigali city Tour – evening departure

Check out from the hotel and continue for a city tour of Kigali with lunch in the city (depending on your flight time) including the genocide war memorial and traditions and culture of Rwanda in the crafts villages. Your guide will be throwing light on this former French –Belgium colony on how the apocalypse started and how it ended. We have now reached the end of the Uganda & Rwanda highlights safari.
Transfer to Kigali international airport and depart at leisure

Crater exploration with a walk to Crater Lake, if you are lucky you might see different species of Monkeys, such as red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies. More in the forest canopy colored aviation creatures- butterflies various bird species like the native Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long tailed cuckoo, the superb black bee eater. Then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, having lunch along the way. Option to drive further southwards with the Rwenzori ranges (Longest in Africa) in view or drive through the Crater lakes in the Hills through to sample out the surprising diversity of Savannah trees and wildlife! In the late afternoon after arriving at the lodge in Kyambura we stretch our legs with a community walk to the close by village and beautiful Crater Lake.

Day 8: 09th Sept, 2018 - Game-drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Discover Queen Elizabeth National Park in the cool morning with an early game drive that exposes us to diverse animals. Possibility to see Big 5 members Elephants, Buffalos, big cats- Lions, Leopards more times in the evening, warthogs- Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents to this park are spotted along the Circuits as we drive along. There is a rich bird life especially our version of storks in the wetland sports as we reach the Flamingoes in the salt lakes. After lunch it is time for the Classic highlight of the 2hrs boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel, a 36kms channel linking Lake George to lake Edward. On the banks you can see land and water Adapted Hippopotamuses Yawning and some slashing canines to each other, the National Geographical society Killing machine the Nile Crocodile gaping along the Banks and
Savannah versions of Pigs the Warthog- Pumba of the award winning Lion King are a hallmark sign in this Animal home!

Day 9: 10th Sept, 2018 - Game drive - Ishasha's tree-climbing lions

We will drive off in the adventurous vast savannah of the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth NP with Topis, the southern version of Elephants and hopefully with the lions high in the Fig tree branches. This is one of two areas in Africa where lions have the habit of regularly climbing trees to take a rest.

Day 10: 11th Sept, 2018 - Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

With a game drive at leisure in search for more wildlife probably those missed the previous day transfer on to Bwindi mountain gorillas through a beautiful drive taking you from the savanna via cultivated hills to the jungle covered mountains of Bwindi. (If we reach early we can do the walk and mix with the locals or relax with the Orphans group performers)

Day 11: 12th Sept, 2018 - Gorilla trekking day- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the home to the forest giants that are cousins to human beings, the mountain gorillas. You will be taken in a group by a specialized guide into the jungle for your gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the beautiful nature and spend one hour with the gorillas, an unforgettable experience. This Impenetrable Forest is also full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas and duikers.

Day 12: 13th Sept, 2018 - Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

With morning breakfast, proceed via Cyanika border to Rwanda, continue to Volcanoes National Park; in the afternoon visit the Karisoke Research centre learn more about Dian Fossey’s work in the National Park and history of Gorilla conservation.

Day 13: 14th Sept, 2018 - Gorilla tracking Volcanoes National Park

With an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for gorilla briefing. When venturing into this gigantic forest, a packed lunch, comfortable clothes, shoes and a walking stick is a must before gorilla tracking. The time spent gorilla tracking is unpredictable, It varies from 2-8 hours before an encounter with the family of these gentle creatures. The location of each gorilla family depends on temperature, their feeding range and movement of the previous day.
Enjoy this 1 hour (only time allowed in the company of each gorilla family a day) watch and capture this memorable experience as they go about their day to day activities; the young ones playing around the old ones, feeding each other and eating foliage. The sight of these outstanding creatures is the climax of this entire safari. Later retire for an overnight at the lodge.

Day 14: 15th Sept, 2018 - Golden monkey tracking – Boat cruise on the twin lake Ruhondo

This morning you set off to meet the golden monkeys. Your guide takes you to the starting point and you set off with a specialized guide for the trek. You’ll experience beautiful nature and get a great experience of primates. A relaxed boat cruise on Lake Ruhondo will enhance your gorilla trekking experience.

Day 15: 16th Sept, 2018 - Kigali city Tour – evening departure

Check out from the hotel and continue for a city tour of Kigali with lunch in the city (depending on your flight time) including the genocide war memorial and traditions and culture of Rwanda in the crafts villages. Your guide will be throwing light on this former French –Belgium colony on how the apocalypse started and how it ended. We have now reached the end of the Uganda & Rwanda highlights safari.

En 74 paginas solo un par de veces se habla del Volcanoes National Park, Genocide Memorial, y del lake Kivu pero esto es todo.
Porque deberia ir a Rwanda?

Uganda. Tengo 45 días. El plan es quedarme 3 días en Kampala, esperar a una amiga mia, ir juntos a Goma (DR Congo), dormir en el volcan Nyiragongo, ver gorilas ahí mismo y....a mi amiga le quedaran 3 días mas (y tiene que volver a Kampala) pues o la convezco de que hay algo para hacer en Rwanda, o volvemos en Uganda pasando por Bunagana y vamos a el lago Bunyonyi, o no se me ocurre mucho mas...

Y después empezará de verdad mi viaje. Mi mochila y yo. Con trasnportes locales, y ojala conocza algun otro turista que haya alquilado 4x4 y tenga un hueco para mi.

Leyendo las 74 paginas me ha quedado bastante claro que son las cosas que quiero hacer (y las que no):

Lo que mejor suena del todo es pasar un par de días en el Queen Elizabeth Park. Y sin duda ahí tengo que: 1)pasar una noche en Mweya 2)pasar una noche en Ishasha 3)paseo en barco por el Kazinga Channel
Obviamente para todo esto tendré que encontrar a alguien con coche. Se que parece un chiste pero es factible ponerme en la entrada del parque y hacer autostop?

En el segundo lugar lo mas interesante parece Murchison Falls National Park
1)El paseo en barco hasta la base de las cataratas es obligado 2)bajar ahí y caminar a la parte alta de las cascadas

Y para completar el podio pues Lago Bunyonyi
1)relajarme 2)hacer excursiones por el lago visitando las islas

Y rafting en Jinja ya veremos, suena muy bien ...

Los chimpancés no me interesa mucho la verdad, pero supongo que podria hacerlos en Queen Elizabeth Park

Bwindi no merece la pena ya que ya habré visto gorilas en DR Congo
Kibale park no me llama mucho la atención, ni el lago Mburo
Y Kidepo NP tampoco

Y me falta informarme un poco sobre el lago Victoria, seguramente iré a ssesse islan pero creo que haré mas cosas por ahí.

No parece que haya mucho mas la verdad. De repente 45 días me parecen muchos pero ya se como funciona y conoceré gente que me llevará a sitios desconocidos, daré también mucha importancia a entran el en pais de verdad y conocer ugandeses y su cultura (asi que si hay consejos de pueblos donde ir, aunque no sean bonitos pero autenticos....)

Y si no sabré que hacer pues podria perfectamente plantearme de o hacer voluntariado o irme a Kenya.

Que os parece? ideas?

Si vas con un safari organizado, pues el coche es el que se utiliza también para moverse durante el viaje. Y lo normal es hacer los game drive con los mismos con los que compartes el vehiculo durante el resto del viaje.

Sobre las plazas individuales, saben de algun lugar fonde reservar en Murchison Falls, porque nosotros nos quedaremos en Fort Murchison y resulta que ellos no tienen nada. La idea es entrar por Tangi .

Hola, paso a informar por si alguien le ayudara. Es sobre los game drive. He contactado con Heritage Safari Lodge y me dan un precio de 170 dolares por el game drive de unas cuatro horas por la mañana, solo ofrecen el coche completo, no ofertan por plazas. Lo que seria el paseo en barco hasta las cataratas serian 32 dolares y siquieres puedes subir caminando que en el precio del coche te incluye la recogida en la cima. De momento eso, a falta de encontrar un game drive que ofrezcan plaza libres.

Hace un par de años estuvimos en Kenia y Tanzania con un RAV4 y no tuvimos ningún problema para andar por las pistas

Hola birli, gracias por tu opinion. El coche lo hemos alquilado con roadtrip y nosnha salido por unos 780 euros desde el 10 de febrero hasta la entrega el día 22.
Una cosa, entonces ustedes hicieron los safaris con ese coche? contrataron solo guia para el parque o fueron a su rollo?

Hola. Ya hemos terminado el viaje por Ruanda y Uganda. Todo fue perfecto, nos han encantado los dos países. Nosotros alquilamos un 4x4 Toyota Prado con Spectrum Nature Safaris, nos atendió Gerald y Malik, nos entregaron el coche en Kigali y lo devolvimos en Entebbe. También nos tramitaron los permisos para los gorilas. El precio fue el mejor que encontré después de mucho buscar pero lo más importante es que siempre estuvieron pendientes de nosotros, también ofrecen servicio de guía y conductor para los que no se animen a conducir por su cuenta y el precio la verdad es que estaba genial. Fue una gran experiencia!
