Slovenia holds a long tradition of nativity scenes, which are one of the most popular symbols of Christmas celebration in Slovenia. Thus, numerous nativity scenes are on display all around the country. One of Slovenia’s biggest festive events is held at Postojna Cave, featuring Live Nativity Scenes and a Christmas market
Already for 28 years, the event has attracted young and old from all over the world. This year, the Living Nativity features the 16 Biblical scenes with more than 150 performers from local performers and top musicians. Ranked among the most beautiful Christmas scenes around the world, this event is surely not to be missed!

Behind the scenes
