Sustantivo femenino. Este termino usado en la comunidad autónoma de Aragón en España que alude a un estanque, balsa, laguna, charco, poza, acequia y una alberca en abundante de agua en que se deposita y almacena en ella.

El cañón del río Vero, a su paso por la sierra de Guara, esconde un legado arqueológico excepcional. Con más de 60 abrigos con pinturas rupestres, este enclave natural se convierte en un excepcional museo de la Prehistoria al aire libre.
Tras el descubrimiento del primer abrigo con arte esquemático por Pierre Mimvielle en 1969, siguió el estudio de Antonio Beltran y arrancó una campaña de investigación sistemática durante veinte años, a cargo del Museo de Huesca dirigida por Vicente Baldellou.
En los diferentes abrigos pintados se pueden encontrar magníficos ejemplos de los tres estilos clásicos del arte rupestre europeo: Paleolítico, Levantino y Esquemático.
Entre los yacimientos destaca la cueva de la Fuente del Trucho, única cueva con pinturas paleolíticas localizada hasta el momento en Aragón.
En 1998 la UNESCO incorporó este conjunto de abrigos en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial, ya que forma parte del Bien “Arte Rupestre del Arco Mediterráneo de la Península Ibérica”.
En su mayoría se trata de pintura parietal, aunque también se localizan grabados paleolíticos y esquemáticos.
