Shopping at a fake market is one of the most popular activities for foreigners who first land in China. However, many foreigners are clueless on the prices they should pay for fake items. I don’t necessarily condone purchases at fake markets, but I do condone shopping educated if you decide to go this route. Therefore, this blog post goes over documented lowest prices that I have personally seen or researched in Shanghai. It is a continuation of my previous post of A Guide to Fake Markets in Shanghai. Now on to the Shanghai fake market prices you should be paying …
Fake Clothes / Bags / Accessories
1) Sunglasses (e.g. Oakleys) – Initial offer: 100 – 300 RMB. You pay: 10 – 20 RMB. You can find a variety of quality in the sunglasses that you see. Some look to be decent quality, some not so decent. The best quality sunglasses (with “UV Protection”) may run you up to 30 RMB depending on the time of day and vendor, but it may be possible to go down as low as 20 RMB.
2) Jeans (e.g. Diesel) – Initial offer: 200 – 500 RMB. You pay: 50 – 140 RMB. Like the sunglasses above, the price of jeans will vary based on quality. The best quality fake jeans in Shanghai can be found at 580 Nanjing Rd, where the copies are nearly identical to the real versions. However, if you buy at Qipu Rd, you shouldn’t pay any more than 60 RMB for a pair of jeans. At Science & Technology Museum Metro you should be able to get a pair of jeans for roughly 80 RMB.
3) Small Scarf – Initial offer: 70 – 100 RMB. You pay: 10 RMB. Any small scarf should run you 10 RMB.
4) Large Cashmere Scarf – Initial offer: 100 – 200 RMB. You pay: 40 RMB. This is like the large LV scarf that you see at a variety of stands. You may be able to get down to 30 RMB if you are in the right situation.
5) Casual Shoes (e.g. Converse, Diesel) – Initial offer – 200 – 400 RMB. You pay: 50 – 60 RMB. If there is nothing too fancy about the shoes, you should be able to get them for 50 – 60 RMB after hard bargaining. If this offer doesn’t work, go to similar shops and bump up by 5 RMB each time.

Hola en 15 dias vamos a china recorriendo las diferentes ciudades ( beijing, hong kong, shangai, Guillin, Xian etc...) y nos gustaria saber donde esta mejor, el cambio de dinero, si en el mismo aeropuerto o en las tipicas casas de cambio.
POr cierto alguien sabe a cuanto esta el cambio del yuan a euro. A mi en internet me marca que esta:
1 euro= 8,62 aprox.

En China yo no vi ninguna casa de cambio por la calle, de hecho son los hoteles los que actúan como tal. Te piden identificación (pasaporte) y te dan resguardo del Bank of China. Con nosotros fueron bastante estrictos con el estado de los billetes, así que procura que no estén rasgados ni rotos. Yo seguí una recomendación que leí por aquí y los llevé de 20€ para cambiar. También leí que es necesario guardar el resguardo porque luego a la salida igual lo piden, pero a nosotros no nos lo pidieron.
En Hong Kong sí que hay casas de cambio por la calle, y recuerda que la moneda es diferente que en China (yuan vs Dólar de Hong Kong). Nosotros cambiamos lo que nos sobraba de Yuanes a dólares en el ferry por un cambio de 1 a 1, salimos perdiendo seguro. Después allí, donde vi mejores cambios fue en la zona de la isla de Hong Kong, en los centros que hay en las pasarelas.
He de decir que si en algún sitio me intentaron timar con el cambio fue aquí, aunque puede que fuera un "descuido". Nos ofrecían cambio de dólares USA en vez de euros, y hasta que no nos enfadamos diciendo que ese cambio era incluso peor que en el hotel y que nos íbamos no admitió su "error".
