El Parque Nacional Daintree (Tierra Aborigen de la Península del Cabo York) (CYPAL) se compone de
dos secciones: Mossman Gorge y Cape Tribulation.
Las aguas cristalinas del río Mossman caen en cascada sobre rocas de granito en Mossman Gorge, mientras que Cape Tribulation presenta montañas cubiertas de selva tropical que descienden hasta largas playas de arena.
La parte más accesible desde Port Douglas por ejp comprende desde Mossman hasta el río Daintree.

From Cairns drive 80km north along the Captain Cook Highway then just before Mossman town centre, turn left into Johnston Road and continue for 2km to the Mossman Gorge Centre near the entrance to the Mossman Gorge section of the park.
Shuttle buses operate daily from the visitor centre (every 15min from 8am–5.45pm) transporting visitors on a 2km journey into the park (Fees apply(external link)).
Visitors can also access the national park (CYPAL) by foot or bicycle free of charge at any time of day. |

The Daintree ferry operates 5.00am–midnight every day with a reduced service on Christmas Day and occasional breaks in service for mechanical repairs or during flooding.
From the Daintree River ferry crossing to Cape Tribulation, conventional two-wheel-drive vehicle access is possible, although high clearance is useful and caravans are not recommended. The road through this section of the park is narrow and winding. Drivers should keep left and watch for wildlife, particularly cassowaries. |
Para llegar a Cape tribulation se necesita tomar un ferry
Desde ahí y una vez cruzado el río, se tardan unos 40 minutos en llegar a Cape Tribulation.
No hace falta un 4x4 pero un coche alto viene bien!

Para seguir más al norte se necesita un 4x4 para llegar hasta Bloomfield, donde termina el Daintree,

Qué ver y hacer en Mossman Gorge
Hay un par de paseos uno de 400 m y otro más largo a través del Rainforest
