Por la zona de Kyoto tienes el Kinosaki onsen. Yo no he estado pero una amiga mi que ha ido a Japón como 15 veces me lo ha recomendado. A ese podrías ir perfectamente desde Kyoto en una excursión de un día.
Kinosaki es el epítome de una ciudad onsen japonesa. Situada en el Mar de Japón, ha sido durante siglos un lugar de descanso en el camino desde Kioto. Incluso existe el templo del onsen, el onsen-ji, al que se acude a rezar antes de tomar las aguas. La leyenda cuenta que este templo fue dedicado al monje que rezó a Buda para que levantara las aguas termales.
Kinosaki Onsen, una pequeña localidad costera situada en la península de Tango, a unos 150 kilómetros al norte de Kioto, en la prefectura de Hyōgo, es uno de los balnearios favoritos de Japón. A diferencia de algunos pueblos onsen que se han estropeado un poco con la introducción de grandes hoteles blancos, Kinosaki conserva su encanto tradicional, con un arroyo que lo atraviesa bordeado de sauces y cerezos.
