The Taiyuin-byo resembles the Toshogu in its layout and lavish decorations, but it is intentionally kept more modest than the Toshogu. The Toshogu, the Taiyuin-byo combines many Shinto and Buddhist elements. Taiyuin-byo belongs to Rinnoji Temple.
