Australia, por ejemplo, no es así, ya que tienen un sistema de pases parecido al americano, pero dividido por estados, mientras que el americano es nacional. Ahora por ejemplo me toca pagar $82 por un pase de parques solo para Tasmania. |

Maria Island is a 30-minute ferry ride from Triabunna, about 1.5 hours from Hobart and 2.5 hours from Launceston. The ferry sails to and from the island on a regular schedule. All available sailings are listed when you make a booking. |

Rooms are available in the old penitentiary building at Darlington – a few minutes walk from the jetty. Rooms tend to book well in advance, so call ahead to be sure. There are nine rooms with bunk beds that sleep six people in each. Rooms have a picnic-style table and chairs, and a wood heater. A larger tenth room sleeps 14 people. No, it’s not five star, but the rates are very reasonable. |

The park is about 2.5 to 3 hours from either Launceston or Hobart. Turn off the Tasman Highway (A3) onto the Coles Bay Road (C302), 12km south of Bicheno. The main park entrance and Freycinet Visitor Centre are accessed by driving straight through the Coles Bay township, 28km from the highway on a sealed road. |

There are a couple of great places to choose from to see penguins in Bicheno – Redbill Beach on the western side of town, and Waubs Beach in the middle of town. Both of these beaches are easily accessible by foot, and all you will need to do is set yourself up with a picnic rug or a couple of chairs before dusk, and watch the little fellas waddle their way home. |

It's recommended to fill your car up with fuel before you arrive on Bruny Island. The only fuel available on the island is at Adventure Bay General Store. There is no ATM on the island and it is recommended that visitors planning to camp carry some cash. |

Bruny Island is accessed via a 20min vehicular ferry crossing from Kettering, which is a 30min (33km) drive south of Hobart. The ferry runs several times daily. From the ferry terminal at Roberts Point, it’s a 30min drive (37km) to Adventure Bay and the national park. |

So when is the best time of year to see the aurora in Tasmania? June through August are the darkest months in Tasmania, when you’ll most likely see the southern lights. No matter when you visit, you’ll need to wait for a dark, clear night to try and see the southern lights in Tasmania |

Snow, rain, wind and sun are all possible at any time of the year, and bushfires can occur between October and March. Deaths have occurred when people have been caught unprepared in cold, wet and windy weather. Children, older people and those with an illness or disability are at the greatest risk in such conditions. |
