My best friend and I flew from London to BARCELONA the last month for weekend breaks. Few days ago we had watched "Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona movie" we were so in love with Barcelona.
Seduced by the gorgeous backdrop, we wanted to feel the soul of town following steps of Vicky Christina ...
As It was our first time in city, we were so excited! and we didn't want to waste time so The previous week we did book a walking tour: ( Gaudì modernism route: Las Ramblas,El Liceo, Palau de la Música Catalana, Plaza Cataluña, La sagrada Familia, Paseo De Gracia, La Pedrera) we have paid for it 25€
We had planned to visit the other film locations: Park Guell, the Hospital de Sant Pau, Hotel Casa Fuster ourselves .
Ohhh my God ! unfortunately our plane not take off at time and our whole planning was modified ...sadly we arrived later and we missed the walking tour.
What a pity! ... While we were thinking a second option front to Hard Rock Cafe, a guy asked us if we were here for the FREE walking tour! What luck ! saved us the day...Without hesitation we joined them ( "BARCELONA Film Locations walking Tour")
2 hour walking tour.!.. I think it was a great way to felt the Barcelona's spirit our guide was very expert and friendly this tour was by far the best one... apart from visiting the sights we had planned ... we learned Barcelona's tips and tricks as well as lovely secrets places to the city that only a Catalan would know!
After the end of the tour , we continue the path ourselves "Film Locations Gaudí route" the next stop was PARQUE GUELL declared a historical artistic monument of national interest, it is amazing ! FREE entry!
At some point HOSPITAL DE SANT PAU declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE by UNESCO) Its architectural Modernism and lovely design turn it into a unique and special site. FREE entry!
And the end of the tour "sangria & tapas stop" in CASA Fuster's Cafe Vienes other of the scenarios of the film.
For jazz lovers every Thursday from 09:00pm-11:00pm are The Jazz nights "live music" Where is possible find any night Woody Allen playing his clarinet.
By the way, you not need to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy the Cafe Vienes.
Without a doubt ..we understood why Barcelona was chosen by Woody Allen as film set for his Academy award-winner "Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona "
