- If you leave something on the Shinkansen bullet train, you have to call the last stop of the train (regardless of where you got off). Ask the tourist office for the number.
- For trains terminating in Kyoto call tel. 075/691-1000.
- Items lost at Kyoto Station are turned in to the lost-and-found office (tel. 075/371-0134), which is open daily 8am to 7:30pm.
- If you lost something along a street or outside, contact the Shichijo Police Station (tel. 075/342-0110). Taxi Kyodo Center (tel. 075/672-1110) handles lost and found for all taxi companies.

Lo interesante es que te cuenta cómo llegar a la oficina de objetos perdidos, que al parecer no es fácil y está fuera de la estación:

In order to get to the Kyoto Station lost and found office you first have to leave the station via the main entrance and take a right. You keep the station building on your right and go until you reach an alley. You follow the alley for a couple of turns and you will see a sign saying “lost and found” above a door that you wouldn’t have noticed had it not been for the sign. The Kyoto Station lost and found office itself is a room no more than 8 by 8, if not smaller

Gracias, ya he encontrado la oficina a ver si tenemos suerte, gracias, luego os cuento, aunque me da que va aser un poco dif:icil, por la hora, estaba todo petado de gente...chao!

Bueno, gracias a todos, fuimos a la mañana siguiente a la oficina, que para quien lo necesite está a la salida a mano derecha (Lost & Found) y me la dieron en mi mano junto a mi cara de mezcla de agradecimiento y sorpresa por la rapidez, amabilidad y grata sorpresa al verla allí, sana y salva, gracias a tod@s y bueno, he podido comprobar de buena mano lo que me contabais de los japoneses, una pasada....
