Recorte de prensa de The new Times donde explica la aplicacion de las muevas tarifas

Quieren potenciar el turismo haciendo descuentos a quienes esten mas dias y visiten mas parques

The Rwanda Development Board yesterday announced an increase in the price of gorilla permits from US$750 to US$1,500 for all visitors effective immediately.

A new exclusive package for tourists who wish to book an entire family of gorillas was also introduced at US$15,000, and will receive exclusive personalized tour guide services.

The price increase will not affect tourists who had already purchased their tickets at the time of this announcement.

Tourists who visit other national parks (Nyungwe and Akagera) for a minimum of three days, in addition to gorilla trekking, will receive a discount of 30%.

Similarly, conference tourists who stay pre- or post-conference dates to see gorillas will be eligible for a 15% discount.
In line with Rwanda’s high-end tourism strategy, the price increase aims to strengthen conservation efforts and contribute more to the development of communities living around the Volcanoes National Park.

Along with the new tariff, the tourism revenue sharing rate for communities adjacent to the park will also increase from 5% to 10%, which will quadruple the absolute revenues received by communities.

Over the last 12 years, more than 400 community projects have been completed including hospitals, schools, business development centers and water supply systems to facilitate access to clean water.

These projects directly benefit the people living around the parks.

Clare Akamanzi, the Chief Executive Officer at Rwanda Development Board said: “Gorilla trekking is a highly unique experience. We have raised the price of permits in order to ensure sustainability of conservation initiatives and enhance visitors’ experience. We also want to make sure that the communities living near the park area receive a bigger share of tourism revenues to fund development projects and empower them economically.”

New, high-end lodges are opening in Musanze and plans are underway to improve visitors’ experience at Kinigi, including renovation of the information center to equip it with modern offices and tourism services such as conservation education, children’s learning space as well as digital facilities.

Mountain gorillas are an endangered species with only around 880 remaining in the world. Of those in in the Virunga Massif, Rwanda accounts for 62% of the gorilla population.

Stringent conservation measures have significantly contributed to a rise in gorilla numbers.

There are currently 20 families habituated for tourism and research in Rwanda, up from just 9 families in 2010.

www.dropbearadventures.com.au/ ...-day-tour/

1. SEVEN SISTERS: Fascinating red rock formations are easily accessible from the road. Picnic areas provide a relaxing stop during your Valley tour.
2. MOUSE’S TANK: Named for a renegade who used the area as a hideout in the 1890s, Mouse’s Tank is a natural basin in the rock where water collects after rainfalls, sometimes remaining for months. A half-mile, round-trip trail leads to Mouse’s Tank from the trailhead parking area, passing numerous examples of prehistoric petroglyphs.
3. FIRE CANYON/SILICA DOME: From this vantage point there is an excellent view of the deep red sandstone of Fire Canyon and the unique geological features of Silica Dome.
4. RAINBOW VISTA: A favorite photo point with a panoramic view of multi-colored sandstone.
5. WHITE DOMES: Sandstone formations with brilliant con- trasting colors, picnic area, and a one mile scenic trail. White Domes is 5.5 miles (8.8 km) drive from the VisitorCenter.
o The Fire Wave Trail is Valley of Fire’s newest and perhaps most popular trail. The 1.5-mile roundtrip hike leads to the formation known as the “Fire Wave”, which features smooth red and white striped sandstone, providing a wave-like appearance. Difficulty: Moderate
o WHERE: Meet in parking lot #3 on White Domes Rd.
o ATLATL ROCK: Outstanding examples of ancient Indian rock art, or petroglyphs, including a depiction of the atlatl, a notched stick used to throw primitive spears. The atlatl was a predecessor to the bow and arrow. The adjacent Atlatl Rock Campground has 43 campsites. Some are semi-primitive and others are RV sites with water and power hookups. This camp- ground offers showers and modern restrooms.
o ARCH ROCK: Near Atlatl Rock Campground is the more primi- tive Arch Rock Campground with its more secluded campsites. A two-mile scenic loop road provides views of some of the Valley’s most interesting rock formations, such as Arch Rock and Piano Rock.

Adrian ( the Boss del Hotel Bayview Gardens ) dice:

"I always advise the 2-day trip instead of the 1-day trip, because it adds so much. You visit Rinca and Komodo, with on both islands enough time for a long trek (2,5 hours) instead of the normal 45 minutes. You visit Komodo in the early morning of the 2nd day, which is the best time to spot the animals. You anchor near an island where in the afternoon thousands of flying foxes swarm out to fly to the main land searching for fruit. The boat anchors in a quiet bay, where it lies stable, without mosquitoes and you sleep under clear stars because there is no light pollution.
The boat also takes you to Red/Pink Beach, a world class spot for snorkeling. You may even be able to snorkel with manta's, a truly exciting experience. All of this is not included in the 1-day trip.
The 2 days cost Rp 2.750.000 for 5 persons, 5 meals included. But on that night you don’t pay for a hotel. If you want that, you can leave part your belongings here (which we store for free).

On those 2 days you get the best fresh meals you can imagine, and you have no restaurant expenses. In the end, the 2-day trip doesn’t cost you much more than the 1-day trip, but offers you a unique experience.
The entrance tickets and ranger fee are never included, The tickets cost Rp. 130.000 per person, for every camera you pay Rp. 50.000. The tickets are valid for 3 days. The ranger fee is Rp 80.000 for 1-5 people for a 45 minute-walk. For a 2 hour walk you pay Rp. 160.000.
Snorkel gear costs Rp 30.000 per person per day.

The boats are not ours, we are only an intermediary. The price can go up a little when the price of fuel rises, which has already been announced.

We can make a...

Anzac Day Tours Geography: Turkey includes the large peninsula of Western Asia (known as both Asia Minor and Anatolia) and the European section west of the Bosphorous strait (called Thrace). It covers an area of 783,500 square kms (300,000 square miles) which is roughly equivalent to the size of Texas or the countries of Spain and Italy together. To the south and west are the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas respectively and to the north is the Black Sea. In clockwise order, Turkey shares borders with Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. Nineteen mountains are over 4,100 meters (13,800 feet) high; of them Mt. Ararat (Agri Dag) is the highest at 5,073 meters (16,910 feet) Both the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers (Dicle and Firat) have their source in Anatolia

Economy: The economy of the country is based on agriculture, industry, tourism and natural resources.

Population: The current population of Turkey is over 65 million people, 65% of them live in cities. Over half the population is under the age of 20.

Transportation: Inter-city transportation is by airlines, trains and ferries but by far the most convenient and economical transport is by taking one of the modern and comfortable buses that travel almost everywhere in the country. Within towns and cities, cost-shared taxis (dolmus) and normal taxis are easily available.

Climate: Turkey has a typically hot and sunny Mediterranean Climate, but it can get cold at night.

Shopping: Turkey has many Bazaars and shops. The Turkish Carpets are very beautiful and are quite valuable as they are handwoven with unique designs and made with wool & silk, coloured with natural dyes and pigments. Each region of Turkey has its own design and the silk carpets (kilms) are of course the most valuable. Some of them can take one weaver up to eighteen months to make. Leather and jewelry (gold and silver) are also favourite purchases. In Turkey you can haggle to get the prices down and you will find that there is something to be found within anyone’s budget.

Cuisine: Turkish Cuisine is one of the best in the world. It has a wide variety of dishes and is very healthy as well as delicious.

Tipping: Tipping is customary at hotels and restaurants and for tour guides and drivers. Religion 99% of the Turkish Population is Muslim although they are generally not as strict as most of their Muslim neighbours. Turkey is a secular republic which grants freedom of worship.

Visas & Passports: Visas are required from many countries to visit Turkey. Prior to departure you must check with the appropriate Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. For US citizens, no prior request is necessary, but a visa must be purchased upon arrival in Turkey. This is normally issued before going through passport control and is valid for 90 days. Please ensure your passport has at least 3 months validity before you enter the country

Health & Vaccinations: In general Turkey is a pretty healthy country to travel in although many people experience stomach upsets. It is best to drink bottled water and take the usual precautions over food hygiene. We recommend that you have the following vaccinations: Diptheria & Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Hepatitis B, Rabies and you may want to take Malaria Tablets if you are travelling to Eastern Turkey.
