¿A qué hora recomendáis llegar al parque para poder coger sitio en el visitor center?

Nosotros llegamos a las 9:30 y el aparcamiento del Visitor Center estaba completo (fuimos a Zion el último sábado de abril).

Sin embargo, encontramos bastante sitio para aparcar en el Camping South (entre el Visitor Center y el Museo). En este Camping no hay parada de autobús, pero se encuentra a un corto paseo (unos diez minutos) de la parada del Museo.

De camino a las Vegas desde Bryce Canyon estamos pensando en visitar Zion, cuantas horas se necesitan mas o menos para visitarlo?

Si no cuentas con al menos 1 día completo no te recomiendo vayas a Zion. De hecho pienso q es un parque para 2 días mínimo.
No se puede visitar en coche, tiene q ser en los buses del parque y su principal atractivo son sus rutas de senderismo.

Debido a los daños ocasionados por las recientes lluvias torrenciales, solo se puede llegar a Zion a través de Springdale.
La entrada "este" está cerrada. Hay también senderos cerrados, como The Riverside Walk, West Rim, Upper Emerald Pools y The Narrows.

West Rim from the Grotto to Cabin Spring, Angels Landing, Kayenta and Middle/Upper Emerald Pools will remain closed until further notice.

The Zion-Mount Carmel Highway is still closed, but we are hoping to have it open later this afternoon.

The free Zion Shuttle is currently running to shuttle stop # 9, but will not be dropping off visitors at shuttle stop # 6, the Grotto.

Weeping Rock Trail, Observation Point Trail, Hidden Canyon Trail, Riverside Walk, Pa'rus Trail, Watchman Trail, Lower Emerald Pool Trail, Grotto Trail, and the Sand Bench trail are all open.

Flood Damage Update:
An intense storm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 caused flooding, mudslides and rockfalls. Several popular trails, including Angels Landing, Kayenta, Upper Emerald Pools, and West Rim from the Grotto to Cabin Spring, remain closed. Read more details below.

Riverside Walk -
Sand, debris and small rockfalls were the issue on Riverside Walk. In one area, the sand was three feet deep covering the trail. Trail crews worked all day Wednesday and Thursday morning on clearing the trail. In the meantime, the Zion Shuttle turned around at Big Bend and there was no access to The Narrows from the Temple of Sinawava. Now that Riverside Walk is clear, shuttles have resumed their full route.

Zion-Mount Carmel Hwy (SR-9) -
Mud and debris on the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway was 3-4 feet deep in several areas, overwhelming the road drainage culverts and making the road impassable. Dozens of vehicles were initially stranded in the 1.1 mile tunnel and some stuck in the mud flow. Roads crews were able to plow a path to the vehicles to get them out late Wednesday night. Crews finished clearing the rest of the road and the culverts by late afternoon Friday.

West Rim Trail (access to Angels Landing from Zion Canyon) -
There is major damage on the West Rim Trail, in the area of Refrigerator Canyon. A section of retaining wall failed, causing an 18 foot gap in the trail that is over 5 feet deep. The West Rim between Cabin Spring (near campsite #1) and the Grotto is closed. This includes Zion’s popular Angels Landing Trail. There is no estimate for when the trail will be reopen. Visitors are encouraged to use Observation Point Trail or Hidden Canyon Trail as alternatives. The West Rim campsites are open and accessible from Lava Point.

Emerald Pools Area Trails -
Much of the Emerald Pools Trail complex is also closed due to major damage. Just past the alcove at the end of Lower Emerald Pools Trail, a 20 foot by 10 foot boulder that was supporting part of the trail fell, leaving a deep void in the trail. Two large retaining walls also failed. On the Kayenta Trail, numerous large boulders completely crushed approximately 50 feet of trail. The Kayenta Trail, Upper Emerald Pools Trail and a small section of Lower Emerald Pools Trail will remain closed until repairs can be made. There is no estimate for when the repairs will be complete. The Lower Emerald Pools waterfall is still visible from the Lower Emerald Pools Trail, but visitors can no longer walk behind it. Watchman Trail, Weeping Rock, and Riverside Walk are suggested alternatives.

Further engineering assessments will need to be done on the remaining damaged areas before any other estimated trail reopenings can be provided.

Shuttles are running normally, except shuttles will not be dropping off visitors at the Grotto Shuttle Stop. The Watchman, South, and Lava Point Campgrounds and the Zion Lodge are fully open.

Zion-Mount Carmel Highway (State Rt. 9 connector) closed until further notice.

SPRINGDALE, UT – The Zion-Mount Carmel Highway was closed the evening of March 2, 2019, after reports of an active rockslide on the switchbacks below the tunnel. The area was assessed in the morning of March 3, 2019. A retaining wall failed and eight feet of the road is severely undercut east of the 1st switchback. The Zion-Mount Carmel Highway and Tunnel from the East Entrance to Canyon Junction, is closed until further notice.

Due to this storm, access to Canyon Overlook Trail, near the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel, is closed. Several canyonneering routes have also been closed because they are normally accessed from the closed road. These include Keyhole, Canyon Overlook, Pine Creek, Spry, Clear Creek, Fat Man’s Misery, and Lodge Canyons. The East Rim Trail head is accessible from Zion’s East Entrance. Staff are currently checking trail conditions on the remaining trails.

Alternate east and west driving routes are available via Highway 59 from Hurricane, Utah to Fredonia, Arizona and Highway 14 from Cedar City, Utah to Long Valley Junction and Highway 89. People coming from Interstate 15 to the Park may access the Park as usual by traveling east on State Route 9 through Springdale. All Park facilities including the visitor center, museum, campgrounds, and shuttle buses are open and operating as normal in Zion Canyon. The Kolob Canyons facilities and Kolob Terrace are open as usual.

Visitors should expect trail closures. The Kayenta Trail and Upper Emerald Pools Trail remain closed due to a landslide that has continued to settle since July, 2018. The East Rim Trail, as well as total access to Hidden Canyon and access from the main canyon to Observation Point, remain closed due to a landslide and an unstable overhanging boulder since January, 2019.

This year (October 1, 2018- March 3, 2019), Zion Canyon has received 10.12 inches of precipitation. In comparison, during the same time period one year ago, the same area received 2.77 inches of precipitation.
