I tried to use the service offered through Old Guest House but they wanted 800 b to go from Old Sukhothai to the airport and would not negotiate. They also had problems with English and kept telling me to come to them but as I didn't know where they were and am not in the habit of going to cabs that failed. They were at 081 886 4886. I managed to get a tuk tuk for 500 baht from Old Sukhothai to the airport. I used him 5 times in Sukhothai as he brought me to and from Old and New for dinner and to meet people (about 17 km each way). Word of caution for those who are cautious. He stops at a little grocery store each time he passes it (I think it is his wife's). He gets three cigarettes each time and a drink. By day the drink is m150 similar to Red Bull. By night it is Chang Beer. So on my trips at night he had at least 2 beer. He drove slowly and straight regardless but thought I would warn you. He is one of 4 tuk tuk drivers I saw and he arrived at appointed times to take me back to the Old City Guest house or restaurant - punctual. (Old city Guest House was bare bones but clean and for 150 b more a night they unlock the electricity so you get both a fan and ac. Total 500 b a night). Tuk tuk is at 084 817 4141 and English moderate/poor. Charge between old and new about 200 b one way; 400 round trip. Distance about 12 to 17 km depending on where in each town.
