Yo confieso: me he traído unas cuantas para casa.

ENG-ESP-FR

We finally took off after 2h! We arrived my husband, my baby and I, in Barcelona at midnight.
We lost all the transportation we were supposed to take if we arrived on time. No bus to back home (6€ of bus ticket) and we had to take a taxi (66,80€).
When few days after I made a reclamation to the company to at least reimburse the unplanned cost, and explain them that they let us with a baby of 15 months without any solution, they only answer that they will not do anything. They do not want to assume their responsibility.
I think that is not the best way to treat client. They could assume a little bit their responsibility.
I understand better what I heard about this company and it just confirm that I was the 1st and last time I will travel with them!
------

Brúarfoss is a beautiful waterfall but can be difficult and frustrating to find.
Nearly everyone we have talked to who has tried to find it has gotten lost or
has had to try multiple times to locate it, even with access to GPS coordinates.
Brúarfoss is located near a residential neighborhood of vacation homes and
the residents are not particularly welcoming to those seeking to find the
waterfall. Since the first time we visited in 2012, two of the three access roads
into the neighborhood have been gated. If you are uncomfortable walking or
driving through a neighborhood where you are not terribly welcome, where
the division between public and private property is ambiguous, or with hiking
through an area with no helpful signs and few obvious waypoints, you might
want to skip this location. If you do want to find Brúarfoss, allow sufficient
time to find it for the first time – you will likely need it!
There multiple ways to locate the waterfall and we will summarize two,
both of which have difficulties. To get to the general area from the town of
Laugarvatn (between Þingvellir and Geysir) continue north on Route 37 for
approximately 13.5 km and you will cross the bridge spanning the Brúar River.
From here, your options include:

Option 1: From Route 37, park near the bridge spanning the Brúar River.
Facing the river to the north, start navigating up the right side of the river.
You will come to an occasional path through patches of dense brush, plus
some muddy and steep sections. You will pass two other waterfalls along the
way. You will know you have reached Brúarfoss when you get to a wooden
footbridge over the river just below the falls (64.264305, -20.515338). Be
prepared for route-finding, bushwhacking, and messy hiking. Expect that it
will take you at least 45 minutes to reach Brúarfoss from the road.

Option 2: From the bridge over the Brúar River on Route 37, take the third left
turn approximately 2.3 km later into the residential neighborhood. You may
encounter a gate. If the road is gated, park here and walk. Whether you walk
or drive, head up this road to the north for another 1.6 km (keeping left at any
fork) until you reach 64.26235, -20.50825, a small grassy area on the right side
of the road. If you have managed to drive to this spot, this is a good place to
park away from the houses and driveways.
From the grassy area, you may be able to see a wooden footbridge to the
west about 150 meters away (not necessarily straight ahead depending on
how you have parked; while you are facing west, be sure to scan from left
to right to look for the footbridge). This footbridge is your first landmark. If
you do not initially see the footbridge, start walking west from the grassy
area toward the small tributary that flows into the Brúar River. The footbridge
crosses this tributary.
Once you locate the footbridge, cross it and continue walking along the trail.
Head straight along the trail until you reach a T intersection shortly afterward
(64.263483, -20.511817). Turn right on the trail (the trail is now east of and
parallel to the Brúar River) and continue on the trail for about 175 meters
until you reach 64.264646, -20.514038 and turn left (when we went, there...

Annapurna Himal

My boyfriend and I also used this guide whilst we were out in Nepal – we were recommended by a friend who used him when she did Everest Base Camp. We decided to do the Annapurna Circuit plus base camp.
We met with Sanjib in Kathmandu when we arrived in Nepal and we told him what we wanted to do and how much time we had etc. He told us about a few trips that were possible and we eventually came up with this one.
It was the most amazing trip and wouldn’t have been the same without him and Ram our porter (.
We spent 20 days trekking in November 2011 and Sanjib was able to answer all of our questions from the birds to the trees to the mountains and religion. It was a very cultural trek with so much history.
Some people say that it is possible to do the trek without a guide, which may be true but you miss so much when you are on your own and we learnt such a lot from Sanjib which meant that we understood so much more of Nepal when we visited different areas.
We paid all of our money to him up front, which we were dubious about at the start as we didn’t know him but I wouldn’t say that this was a problem at all.
He made sure we were happy and safe and had full bellies at all times and made sure that we knew everything about altitude sickness which we didn’t get in the end thanks to his slower pace higher up and aclimatisation walks. We also took Diamox, under his recommendation and we were both fine and only suffered a bit of tingling in our faces (a side effect of the drug)!
I would recommend Sanjib to ANYONE that was thinking about going trekking in Nepal, I would love to go back and visit him and do another trek with him when I have the time! There are so many guides out there that claim to do everything that he does but I wouldn’t choose anyone without a recommendation because you hear so many stories about dodgy guides and it would be so sad to lose your money and have a bad experience.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions and enjoy your trek!
