Mi nombre es Marcos y estamos planificando un viaje para visitar unos parques nacionales en USA, entre los cuales no gustaría hacer, Glacier National Park, Yellostone y Grand Teton, estoy leyendo sobre la necesidad de reservar acceso del coche para carreteras como Going to the sun, y algunas otras, las fechas para las reservas empiezan desde finales de Mayo hasta Septiembre, a nosotros nos gustaría ir a mediados de Mayo y me gustaría saber si alguno puede decirme si para esas fechas en las q no es necesario hacer reserva normalmente se puede circular, o el q no se puede hacer reserva es xq están cerradas por nieve todavia.
Con respecto a Glacier NP, a mediados de mayo poco se puede hacer. Si vas más a finales mejor, más posibilidades. La Going to the Sun estará cerrada para los coches, pero puede que se pueda hacer las partes bajas de cada lado: en el oeste llegar hasta la zona de Avalanche y hacer su rutilla y la de Trail of Cedars o Snyder Lake. Tal vez puedas hacer kayak en el lago McDonald...En el este tal vez puedas hacer la ruta de las cascadas: St. Mary, Virginia Falls, que encima estarán en su apogeo. Luego la zona de Two Medicine suele abrirse antes y podrás visitarla. Many Glacier este año está cerrado por obras en la zona de Swiftcurrent y como mucho se podrá llegar hasta Many Glacier Hotel. Por tus fechas no creo que haya problemas de aparcamiento y te podrás acercar a Fishercap Lake.
También hay gente que alquila e-bikes para avanzar por la Going to the Sun desde donde no se puede avanzar más con el coche y seguir con la bici (o andando) por la carretera.
Eso sí, espera frío y nieve y por tanto prepárate con la ropa y equipamiento adecuado.

"Hike up to, and in behind the Storseter waterfall.
The trip to the popular Storsæterfossen waterfall, where the trail actually goes behind the waterfall is one of the most used walking routes in Geiranger. It is carriageway to Vesterås (320 m.a.s.l.) by narrow gravel road. Closest parking is by the main road at Hole.
The walk starts from the Vesterås farm, and one has two routes to choose from at the start. Whether you follow the gravel road 50 meters back passing the cabins located on the left hand, and takes off on a tractor road leading up through hayfields. Follow the tractor road until a gate at the forest edge. You will pass through the gate and come into a stone pathway with hundreds of steps made by Sherpas from Nepal and completed in 2014.
The other route goes along the outbuilding at the end of the gravel road. This trail is not a stone pathway, but is shorter and steeper. One hundred altitude meters higher up in the hillside the trail comes onto the stone pathway made by the Sherpas that leads right up to Storseterfossen waterfall.
There is a nice grassy plateau (540 m.a.s.l.) just above the falls and a secured path goes down to the right and beneath the magnificent waterfall. Be cautious on wet, slippery party.
The trip from Vasteras to Storsæterfossen waterfall takes 45-60 minutes each way.
ELECTRIC BIKE and HIKE alternative: Parking at Hole can be limited so a good option is to travel up from town by "ebike" - an easy and fun way to travel without using much energy. Then of course you can also glide back into town after the walk. Check out the ebike and hike option here"
A ella le resultan algo más de 11 Km lo que, con todo lo que hay para admirar y fotografiar, bien puede llevarse media jornada. Y eso, más o menos, empleó Angegaca.
Tiene muy buena pinta y es una opción interesante, ahora que leo de cruceros que no hacen desembarco en Hellesylt, eliminando la posiblilidad del vistoso recorrido terrestre Hellesylt - Geiranger. ➡️ Leer más ...
