El fenómeno Diamond Fuji, cuando el sol se pone también justo encima de la cima del Monte Fuji brillando como si fuera un diamante, sólo se puede ver dos veces al año desde diversos lugares de algunas prefecturas de la región de Kantô (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Yamanashi, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki y Shizuoka). En Tokyo se puede ver en los primeros días de febrero. Los días y meses son diferentes según la prefectura y el lugar, pero lo curioso es que siempre se puede ver desde el mismo lugar y fechas.
El Pearl Fuji es sólo eso, la luna que se pone en la cima del Monte y después de unos minutos desaparece.

Unos conocidos andan ahora por Japón, y, curiosamente, se están encontrando unos días soleados y "limpios" en los que están teniendo unas vistas increibles. Vieron el Fuji tanto desde Tokio como desde las inmediaciones a la montaña, sin nieblas ni nubes ni nada... Completamente nítido y fotos buenas.
De hecho fueron a Shirakawago y la vieron sin una gota de nieve (por desgracia, en mi opinión), y al día siguiente sí les nevó un poco en Takayama.
A mi el mes pasado me tocó un día de Fuji sin una nube. Espectacular.

Buenos días! Estoy preparando el
Itinerario a Japón del año 2021. Quería ver el Fuji pero investigando veo que en la época que voy yo no es buen momento para verlo. Mi viaje será finales de junio, principios de julio. He leído que madrugando mucho igual se puede ver pero no se si corresponde a esta época del año que voy yo. Con lo cual mi duda es si descartarlo por la poca probabilidad de verlo. Había pensado ir a Hakone y hacer una noche allí. O desde Tokyo ir a los 5 lagos y volver a tokyo. Ambas cosas no se si no tienen sentido si no se va a ver nada. Ya me decís q opináis gracias

El problema es el clima, claro, en verano suele haber mucha niebla por el calor y es por eso que dicen que madrugando mucho se podría ver (y luego ya sería cuestión de suerte, que toque el día despejado, sin mucha niebla o nubes, etc). Con niños pequeños lo de madrugar no sé si será fácil... Y para recorrer la zona de los 5 lagos, siendo 4, tendrías que pensártelo bien el como hacerlo (por ej con alguna excursión organizada para poder ver muchas cosas en pocos días)... O valorar si no verlo y dedicar el día a algún otro sitio.
Buenos días buenas noches desde Kyoto.
Hace unos días cuando estaba en Tokyo fui a visitar la famosa Pagoda Chureito desde donde se ve el Monte Fuji al fondo.
Quería ir por libre y dedicarle allí el tiempo que me apeteciera.
Teniendo el JrPass hay que reservar el tren desde Shinjuku hasta Otsuki y ese tramo está incluido en el pase. No hay vagones sin reserva.
Una vez en Otsuki compre el ticket del tren hasta Shimoyoshida por 980 Yenes por trayecto.
Al llegar a Shimoyosida esta indicado como llegar hasta la pagoda Chureito. Fue espectacular con el día despejado y en cielo azul.
Después bajé hasta la famosa calle principal desde donde se ve la típica foto de la calle y el monte Fuji al fondo.
Increíble el día que pasé allí.
Saludos desde Kyoto que están los templos con un poco de nieve y está todo espectacular.

From the airplane
The best views of Mount Fuji can be enjoyed on domestic flights heading from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to destinations in western Japan, when the planes often fly very close to - if not right above - the mountain. Flights from western Japan in the direction of Haneda Airport usually pass further south, but can still provide nice views.
