En el noreste de Somalia se encuentra la región semi autónoma de Puntland. Esta zona que ocuparía el extremo del cuerno de África ,tiene la zona montañosa más importante de Somalia, ogo y golis ,y también es conocida por su costa y su producción de productos únicos como el incienso, la mirra y la goma arábiga.
