Creo que una de las rutas de bus turístico de Palermo va hasta Monreale, compruébalo porque eso te puede ahorrar un día de coche. Pero por otro lado me suena que las compañías de alquiler suelen entregar loc coches de preferencia en el aeropuerto, no sé muy bien cómo está la cosa porque yo no alquilé, pero me parece que hay que contar con todos los gastos para valorar qué opción es la mejor.

Creo que lo comenté en otro sitio, pero no recuerdo dónde; cuando estuve en Palermo, pasando por Piazza Politeama me pareció ver una parada de bus turístico anunciando un ruta por Monreale. No lo comprobé porque no tenía fiempo de ir hasta allí, pero si existe esa ruta podría ser la mejor opción, ya que sería más rápido y práctico que los autobuses ordinarios y a algunos viajeros les evitaría conservar el coche de alquiler el día que estén en Palermo.

Efectivamente lo habías comentado y aprovechando que puede ser de interés para otros viajer@s que visiten palermo abrimos hilo para el bus turístico

Habría que ver la ruta con detalle pero a mí me parece que en Palermo, en 2 días, se puede ir a pie viendo todo lo interesante. Alguna cosa vi que había por las afueras, pero si nos interesa algo vale la pena informarse de los autobuses ordinarios, el turístico me parece un timo.
