La Semana Santa de Cuenca también ha sido declarada de interés turístico internacional.

La mas famosa de sus procesiones se celebra la madrugada del Viernes Santo y es la conocida como "Las Turbas", del Calvario o del Encuentro, aunque también es conocida como de los Borrachos.

La fiesta parece que pudo tener un origen pagano, otros dicen que pudo ser una tamborada de protesta, debida a que no se dejaba desfilar a las clases sociales mas bajas.
