Publicado:

My husband and I spent 13 days in Sri Lanka with Kumara as our guide. From the first day, he instilled confidence in us. He's a young, charismatic man, attentive, and helpful in every way possible. He showed us the essence of his country. We had a guidebook of the activities we wanted to do, but he also gave us many new ideas that we really liked. He speaks English perfectly, and although our English isn't the best, we were able to communicate perfectly.

From our experience, we believe traveling with a guide is recommended, as getting around Sri Lanka isn't easy, as the distances are long, and public transportation can take forever. Hiring a guide takes the stress out, and on top of that, it's very affordable.

Thank you so much for everything, Kumara. He continues to be so genuine, and we'll see you soon.

You can contact him at the following email address. He'll help you with everything, giving you advice on the best route for the time of year you're traveling.

The upcoming new ticket system will almost completely do away with separate tickets for separate areas, with a total of three different ticket classes, the Ghibli Park Stroll Ticket, Ghibli Park Big Stroll ticket, and Ghibli Park Premium Big Stroll Ticket.

Ghibli Park Stroll Ticket
Adults 1,500/2,000 yen (weekdays/weekends)
Children 750/1,000 yen

The Stroll Ticket (Sanpo-ken in Japanese) doesn’t admit you to Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, but it does get you into the four other parts of the park, which seems like a great deal. There’s a catch, though: you’re only allowed into the outdoor parts of those sections. The Stroll Ticket doesn’t let you into any of Ghibli Park’s buildings, including its shops and restaurants. If all you have is a Stroll Ticket, you can’t even ride the Valley of Witches merry-go-round or flying machines, or bake mochi in Mononoke Village, even though all of those activities require separate payments on top of a ticket to Ghibli Park.

Ghibli Park Big Stroll Ticket
Adults 3,500/4,000 yen (weekdays/weekends)
Children 1,750/2,000 yen

The Big Stroll Ticket gets you into all five sections of Ghibli Park, including Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, and grants you eligibility to spend money in shops, restaurants, the Valley of Witches rides, and the Mononoke mochi-roasting activity. But how about going inside Howl’s Moving Castle? Nope. Mei and Satsuki’s house in the Totoro forest? Nuh-uh. If there’s nothing to spend money on inside, The Big Stroll Ticket doesn’t let you into any of the buildings in Valley of Witches, Dondoko Forest, or Hill of Youth.

Ghibli Park Premium Big Stroll Ticket
Adults 7,300/7,800 yen (weekdays/weekends)
Children 3,650/3,900 yen

So if you want to go inside any of the non-shop/restaurant buildings other than Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, you’ll need to step all the way up to the Ghibli Park Premium Big Stroll Ticket. This is an all-access ticket that grants you admission to all sections of Ghibli Park and all of their buildings.

Ghibli Park O-Sanpo Day Pass

My interpretation: They don’t intend to do an early morning game drive, as they rely on the clients to follow the proposed activities and if explicitly asked for it, they provide a short fake game drive, so that they avoid the (complete) entrance fee.
Up to the last day, it was a good budged tour with friendly people, that's why I still give 2 stars. The accommodation during the tour is nice, the food is good based on the default national ingredients. The picnic lunch during the daily game drive is very basic. The bottle of beer for 350 Kenyan Shilling (>3$) seems to be overpriced for me. We had to push the Toyota Hiace twice, as it got stuck. I think, it's not a 4x4 and I'm wondering, what will be during wet season. The surcharge for paying by credit card before the tour of 5% is ridiculous, so I went to an ATM to pay cash. They asked me several times to give 5-star-review, even sent me a link to this page.

There are two islands with this name in Maldives, one being an islandlocated in Thaa Atoll and the other being in Southern Ari Atoll. It can easily be confusing as both the islands are unique and beautiful on their own.Lounging by the beach in Adh Omadhoo is great on its own but snorkeling in thehouse reef is something you would not want to miss. We check in late afternoon to an area with an amazing display of primates and lovely scenery.

Shopping at a fake market is one of the most popular activities for foreigners who first land in China. However, many foreigners are clueless on the prices they should pay for fake items. I don’t necessarily condone purchases at fake markets, but I do condone shopping educated if you decide to go this route. Therefore, this blog post goes over documented lowest prices that I have personally seen or researched in Shanghai. It is a continuation of my previous post of A Guide to Fake Markets in Shanghai. Looking for fabric market prices? Check out my write up on the Shanghai Fabric Market.
As a note, this website is optimized for iPhone viewing. If you have a working iPhone in China, bookmark this post and pull it up as a reference guide when you are shopping in the fake markets to ensure you pay optimal prices.
Now on to the Shanghai fake market prices you should be paying …
Fake Clothes / Bags / Accessories
1) Sunglasses (e.g. Oakleys) – Initial offer: 100 – 300 RMB. You pay: 10 – 20 RMB. You can find a variety of quality in the sunglasses that you see. Some look to be decent quality, some not so decent. The best quality sunglasses (with “UV Protection”) may run you up to 30 RMB depending on the time of day and vendor, but it may be possible to go down as low as 20 RMB.
2) Jeans (e.g. Diesel) – Initial offer: 200 – 500 RMB. You pay: 50 – 140 RMB. Like the sunglasses above, the price of jeans will vary based on quality. The best quality fake jeans in Shanghai can be found at 580 Nanjing Rd, where the copies are nearly identical to the real versions. However, if you buy at Qipu Rd, you shouldn’t pay any more than 60 RMB for a pair of jeans. At Science & Technology Museum Metro you should be able to get a pair of jeans for roughly 80 RMB.
3) Small Scarf – Initial offer: 70 – 100 RMB. You pay: 10 RMB. Any small scarf should run you 10 RMB.
4) Large Cashmere Scarf – Initial offer: 100 – 200 RMB. You pay: 40 RMB. This is like the large LV scarf that you see at a variety of stands. You may be able to get down to 30 RMB if you are in the right situation.
5) Casual Shoes (e.g. Converse, Diesel) – Initial offer – 200 – 400 RMB. You pay: 50 – 60...
