Nyerere National Park

El Parque Nacional Nyerere es un parque recientemente establecido que forma parte de lo que se conoce como Selous Game Reserve.

Reserva de Selous - Parques del Sur de Tanzania

El parque se estableció en el año 2019 y cubre un área de 30.893 kilómetros cuadrados de superficie terrestre, lo que lo convierte en el Parque Nacional más grande de África. Antes de la creación de Nyerere N.P, Selous Game Reserve medía aproximadamente 54,600 kilómetros cuadrados.

El nombre del Parque se da en honor al fundador de la Nación, el difunto Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere.

Podemos ir a Nyerere National Park desde Dar es salaam or Arusha.

Conviene comprobar cómo está el camino después de la principal temporada de lluvias de abril y mayo.

La distancia varía de 184 km a 230 km dependiendo de a qué puerta o punto de entrada del Parque Nacional Nyerere desee acceder.. En términos de tiempo de viaje, por lo general entre 6 horas para la mayoría de las puertas de entrada al parque, como Mtemere y matembwe, y hasta 7 horas para las puertas en el lado norte de Selous Game Reserve.

- Dar es Salaam to Nyerere Park ( Matembwe Gate ) 6 - 7 hrs
