Cuenta la leyenda que un viejo dragón, enfurecido con una cigüeña metálica, empezó a construir atalayas pétreas para otear el horizonte y vigilar por si se acercaba ese pájaro extraño.

Algunos de estos farallones hoy los conocemos como Sirigiya, Pidurangala, Mihintale o Pico de Adán.

Como buenos lacayos de nuestra querida Cigüeña Cósmica, nos dejamos guiar por sus consejos y, sin dilación, nos subimos a sus lomos para ver esos restos en el paisajes, recuerdos pretéritos de la lucha titánica entre el dragón y el pájaro metálico.

Más de dos mil años llevan los monjes budistas protegiendo la Roca de Pidurangala, guardando sus secretos, no vaya a ser que regrese del averno ese dragón malvado.

Hoy intentaremos hollar su cima, para rememorar tiempos pasados y ver los restos de esa lucha de gigantes.

Se trata de un caminata sencilla, por escaleras primero y pedruscos después. Con frondosa vegetación, monos y serpientes al acecho.

Una vez se alcanza la cumbre de esta formación rocosa. las vistas del paisaje son increíbles y alucinantes. Se divisa la Roca del León justo enfrente, y el atardecer es tan fantástica que muchos otros pajarillos como nosotros acuden a ver esta puesta de sol única.

Hay una canica de piedra enorme, justo en la cima y para llegar a ella es necesario pasar por debajo de esa roca monstruosa, que se yergue dubitativa sobre nuestras cabezas y nos obliga a hacer contorsionismo para poder bordearla.

Legend has it that an old dragon, enraged by a metal stork, began to build stone watchtowers to scan the horizon and watch for that strange bird to approach.

Today we know some of these cliffs as Sirigiya, Pidurangala, Mihintale or Adam's Peak.

As good lackeys of our beloved Cosmic Stork, we let ourselves be guided by his advice and, without delay, we climbed onto his back to see those remains in the landscape, past memories of the titanic fight between the dragon and the metallic bird.

For more than two thousand years, Buddhist monks have been protecting the Pidurangala Rock, keeping its secrets, lest that evil dragon return from hell.

Today we will try to trample its summit, to remember times past and see the remains of that struggle of giants.

It is a simple walk, up stairs first and then rocks. With lush vegetation, monkeys and snakes on the prowl.

Once the summit of this rock formation is reached. The views of the landscape are incredible and amazing. You can see Lion Rock right in front, and the sunset is so fantastic that many other little birds like us come to see this unique sunset.

There is a huge stone marble, right at the top and to get to it it is necessary to go under that monstrous rock, which stands doubtfully above our heads and forces us to do contortionism to be able to go around it.

අද අපි එහි සමුලුව පාගා දැමීමට උත්සාහ කරමු, අතීත කාලය සිහිපත් කර එම යෝධයන්ගේ අරගලයේ නටබුන් දැකීමට.

එය සරල ඇවිදීමකි, පළමුව පඩිපෙළ සහ පසුව ගල්. සශ් රීක වෘක්ෂලතාදියෙන්, වඳුරන් සහ සර්පයන් ගැවසෙනවා.
