Consultas generales para viajar a Kenia, dudas sobre itinerarios y Safaris por Masai Mara, Amboseli, Lago Nakuru, Aberdares, Tsavo, Naivasha, Samburu, subida al Monte Kenia, isla de Lamu, ver Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi, lago Victoria, lago Turkana...
Si, yo veo también poco tiempo en Masai Mara y muchos lagos y añadiría Samburu. Si te sirve de consejo yo hice esto (y me hubiese quedado un diía más en Masai Mara):
Day 1:19/08/11:- Nairobi - Samburu
Day 2:20/08/11:- Samburu
Day 3:21/08/11:- Samburu -Aberdares
Day 4:22/08/11:- Aberdares -L.Nakuru
Day 5:23/08/11:- L.Nakuru-Mara
Day 6:24/08/11:- Masai Mara
Day 7:25/08/11:- Masai Mara- Nairobi
Además especificaria hacer game drives a toidas horas (quiero decir que si llegas al mediodia, hacer uno por la tarde) A la mañana siguiente hacer uno antes de desayunar y los otros el resto del día según os convenga.
De todos modos, estás segura que quieres hacer ese safari con agencia? Por libre (alquilando un coche y los alojamientos por tu cuenta) te saldría mucho mejor (por el aprovechamiento del tiempo en los parques, sobretodo). La ruta que téneis en mente es muy sencilla y no hay nada de complicación.

Yo no recomiendo hacerlo por libre. Para empezar, en algunos parques tienes que ir obligatoriamente acompañado por un nativo masai, además los coches que llevan las agencias tienen radio y se van comunicando para decir donde se pueden ver animales. Los buenos guías conocen los parques y saben dónde ir.

Tres cosas:
- Parques que sea obligatorio ir con guía no encontré ninguno en Kenia. ¿Puedes decirme en qué parques es obligatorio ir con guía?
- He ido con agencia y por libre y la experiencia no varía mucho de una forma a otra (número de avistamientos, en calidad y cantidad). Sin embargo, por libre estás mucho más tiempo dentro del parque, aprovechas mejor el tiempo y eliges en todo momento lo que hacer sin que nadie trate de dirigirte.
- "Los buenos guías" son muy pocos y por lo general, a no ser que te vayas a tours muy, muy caros, tendrás guías mediocres.
Esto es todo basado en mi experiencia, por supuesto.

En el Mara hay una zona en la que se tiene que ir acompañados por un masai, no en todo en parque pero sí en una amplia zona.
En lo referente a ir por libre, a mi me gusta viajar por libre, pero en este caso en particular yo prefiero y recomiendo ir con guía, pero es una opinión personal basada en mi experiencia.
No pretendo discutir si una opción es mejor o peor en términos absolutos, tan sólo digo que en mi opinión personal, se aprovecha mejor el viaje con un buen guía.

Yo lo hice por mi cuenta alquilando 4x4 y ningun problema. Todo el mundo intenta meterte miedo para que compres un paquete completo, pero alquilar coche y dormir en camping en los parques es toda una aventura.
Te puedes plantear coger 1 guia allí mismo el primer día, especialmente en masai mara que es muy extenso, pero en cuanto ves como funciona ningun problema. Incluso parabamos a preguntar a los guias donde habia animales y respondian amablemente. Mas que guias la mayoria son choferes con radio que se van avisando.
En samburu y amboselli no hace falta guia, con estar un poco atento y ver donde van las vans suficiente.
Si estas muchos días, enseguida vas a ver los animales, especialmente en mara, esta bien combinarlo con un poco de aventura.

Incluso parabamos a preguntar a los guias donde habia animales y respondian amablemente. Mas que guias la mayoria son choferes con radio que se van avisando.
Exacto, como dice SORGISORGI los guías, salvo honrosas excepciones, son simplemente conductores que las agencias subcontratan por un precio fijo y que tratan por todos los medios de minimizar sus propios gastos: mínima gasolina y no hacer ningún daño al vehículo. Es por eso que no tienes toda la libertad que desearías ni haces game rides de 12 horas como hacíamos nosotros cuando yo conducía (tampoco le puedes pedir a un pobre hombre que está trabajando con un margen muy mínimo que haga 3 game rides seguidos sin parar siquiera a comer, eso lo hace tu porque para ti es una experiencia y un momento único en tu vida, él ya está cansado de ver leones y gacelas
Por otra parte, Nevada18, no se si te refieres al Mara Triangle. Si te refieres al Triangle, quizás hayan cambiado las reglas, pero cuando yo estuve, con pagar la entrada no tenías problema. Y si te refieres al trozo de río dónde puedes bajar y andar cerca de los hipopótamos, te puedo contar como hacer eso mismo sin pasar por la mafia del parque y los "guías".

Siempre viajamos por libre a todas partes pues odiamos los tours o los grupos pero esta vez el safari lo hice con una agencia local, negociando todo, regateando y pactando y dejándolo todo muy atado. Para la visita de los parques yo lo recomiendo.Con mis hijas, éramos 4 y íbamos solos (no con grupos) con un coche y un guía que conducía que fue una maravilla (las carreteras en según que tramos están fatal, al menos cuando fui yo que estaban la mitad levantadas). Estábamos en el parque a las 6 de la mañana, volvíamos a las 9 a desayunar y volvíamos a salir al parque todo el día y nos quedábamos a comer en el suelo. La ventaja que vi de ir así es que ves todos los animales (los big five) ya que los guías se van avisando de donde avistan animales y además ellos se orientan perfectamente. Lo importante es llevar un buen guía, que tenga ganas de hacer lo mismo que tu y al que le divierta lo que hace. El resto de viaje hacia Mombasa y sur lo realizamos por libre por nuestra cuenta.

Si me permites un consejo, demasiados kilómetros. Amboseli es un gran parque para ver elefantes y hervivoros, pero no veras leones ni guepardos ni leopardos, es muy difícil ya que hay pocos y en una zona protegida. Centrate en la zona norte, mete un día mas en Mara y no visites tantos lagos.

Comno dice, Jpedro, yo también quitaría un poco de agua y le daria un día mas a Mara... Los lagos, si te pillan con las aguas altas, curiosamente no son tan interesantes, porque no es fácil ver flamencos, por ejemplo, y ademas los caminos pueden estar anegados.

Yo quitaria por ejemplo el llago Bogoria, pondria ese día en Mara y en Naivasha exigiria la visita a Crescent Island, el poder andar rodeado de animales salvajes es sensación increible y que solo se puede realizar allí ya que no hay carnivoros.

9 DAYS MAASAI MARA / LK. NAKURU /SAMBURU/ EQUATOR / AMBOSELI
Day1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara.
Pick up from the hotel at 8am to depart for Maasai Mara at 8.30am. Drive
South through the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Stop at the Rift Valley
Viewpoint for photography and after proceed to Narok Town for lunch.
Proceed to Mara arriving in time for an evening game drive from 4pm �
6.30pm when you return to the camp for dinner & overnight.
Day 2: Maasai Mara
After breakfast, with your lunch boxes, proceed to a full day of game
Viewing from 8am until 5pm. This day you will experience Maasai Mara in
Reality as you will be treated with great views of wildlife including
�The Big 5 � Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Black Rhinoceros�.
Others are Impala, Giraffe, Cheetah, etc. The game drive heads to the Mara
River where you see lots of Hippos & crocodiles sharing a pool in Mara
River. Return to the camp for dinner & overnight.
Day 3: Maasai Mara - Nakuru
A pre-breakfast game drive from 6.30 am � 8am. After breakfast drive

Seguramente vamos a visitar Kenia y Tanzania, como vamos a ver los 2 países y tenemos poco tiempo ¿merece la pena ver el Serengueti siendo muy parecido a Mara y así usamos esos días para ver otros parques de Tanzania¿??? O es visita obligada¿????
Hombre pues yo lo diría el revés, si vistas Serengueti ni visites Mara, ya que el primero es inmensamente mas grande que el segundo. Dependiendo la época del año, para saber donde están los rebaños, es mejor visitar uno u otro. Yo estuve en los dos y al verdad no me arrepiento, es mejor quitar otros a estos, son la autentica sabana africana.

Seguramente vamos a visitar Kenia y Tanzania, como vamos a ver los 2 países y tenemos poco tiempo ¿merece la pena ver el Serengueti siendo muy parecido a Mara y así usamos esos días para ver otros parques de Tanzania¿??? O es visita obligada¿????
Por lo que he leido, vas en septiembre... Mara es obligado en septiembre. Serengueti, si vas a Mara lo puedes dejar, pero ya que vas a Ngorongoro, yo también iria a Serengueti, pues es un parque muy importante y buscaría quitar otra cosa.

Demasiada ruta.
Los traslados entre parques penalizan muchísimo tiempo si no vas en flying.
Ante todo recomiendo Samburu.
Me decepcionó Nakuru y Baringo.
El Mara está muy bien.
Amboseli lo desconozco.
Priorizaría menos lugares y estancias más largas en los elegidos.
Holaaa!! mi pareja y yo iremos 12 días a kenia en Agosto, y queremos hacer diferentes safaris por nuestra cuenta (Ya en zambia hicimos algunos en un 4x4 con tienda arriba). Me podéis recomendar algún itinerario? Recomendar alguna Agencia para alquilar el 4x4 con tienda arriba? Sabéis que precio tiene por día?
Sabeis donde podemos acampar con el coche???
