Tabriz es la puerta de entrada a esta zona de Irán. Aquí es donde tendremos que contratar un tour, si no lo llevamos de origen, o al menos un coche con conductor.
Esta zona no es ni muy accesible ni muy visitada por occidentales, así que el viaje puede ser duro y exige hacer noche a la mitad.
Para ir a San Stepanous hay que ir a Jolfa, unas dos o tres horas al norte de Tabriz.
Desde aquí al otro monasterio hay otras tres o cuatro horas, así que lo idóneo es dormir en la cercana Maku, dejar la visita de Dzordzor y San Tadeo para la mañana del segundo día y luego deshacer todo el camino de vuelta a Tabriz.
La iglesia de San Tadeo aún tiene oficio un día al año, justo el día de San Tadeo a comienzos de julio.
